Founding and Growth
The first generational change took place in the late 70s when Enrique Morera Guajardo, a lawyer with a Master’s in Economics and Business Management, joined the firm after the founder’s death. From that moment on, the firm grew by expanding the legal practice department through the incorporation of new associates into the project, and by providing its clients with a unique service, which has been the firm’s hallmark. This is reflected in the dual training of its lawyers, which provides for (i) smooth communications with clients, (ii) an understanding of every facet of the relevant economic and business aspects, and (iii) preparation and knowledge that guarantees an optimum position against the counterparty.
All the above is firmly rooted in the principles of excellence and ethical values that led to, and were the reason for, the firm’s founding, but combined with a current and streamlined service that is focused on the needs and requirements of the client. However, the most important asset that BM&A has is its partners and the entire staff, who are committed to the continuity and transcendence of the firm, imbuing in successive generations the culture and spirit that characterizes them.
To date, the company is part of BM&A Asesores Legales, S.L., a legal intermediation firm with the most modern facilities, offering its services from extensive offices located in Barcelona and Madrid.
BM&A also has a permanent center in Puigcerdà (Girona) that is available to its members for thematic or study sessions and for work meetings with other firms and collaborators. Its facilities are equipped with all kinds of services, featuring the most modern technology and comfort, and are located in a setting that fosters concentration with the necessary isolation and discretion.
Principles and Objectives
BM&A’s policy is founded, on the one hand, on striking a balance between the quality of the service and the geographical expansion of the firm, and, on the other, an adequate and balanced dimension, as the only way to maintain and control the rigor and excellence.
Its policy is not to have exclusive agreements with any national or international law firms, and through the aforementioned liaison offices, the firm offers clients an international service that is suited to their needs, provided by the best legal operators, by specialty and country, that are required in each specific case.
We believe each case – whether legal, arbitration or extrajudicial – requires a specific and unique type of solution, at suitable costs, and always with the highest quality service. These objectives can only be achieved with specific professionals for each area, whose work and costs are controlled by BM&A.
This also makes it possible to offer a high-quality service at reasonable prices, including internationally, that is much more efficient in terms of quality and cost than what multinational legal firms can comparatively offer. BM&A’s fees reflect a policy of full transparency and predictability in the economic agreements that it reaches with its clients, with preliminary budgets and constant and complete information on the status of the costs and expenses incurred.
